What an Airbnb listing audit checks

Bestside reviews the six parts of your listing that shape a guest's decision to click and book, and scores each one.

Title
Whether your title earns the click when a guest scrolls search results: what it leads with, what it wastes characters on, and whether it says what makes your place worth choosing.
Description
Clarity and scanability. Can a guest find the essentials quickly, or is the good stuff buried in a wall of text?
Amenities
What you list compared with what guests commonly look for, including amenities you may have but haven't listed.
Photos
Photo count, room coverage and captions. We don't see or judge the images themselves, so there's no verdict on lighting or image quality.
Positioning
Who the listing is for, and whether the title and description make that obvious to the right guest.
Trust
The signals that reassure a first-time guest, such as reviews, rating and host status, and how well the listing uses them.

What you get back

  • A 0-100 listing score. An overall score with a plain-English band, from Needs Work to Top Tier, plus a score for each of the six areas above.
  • A rewritten title. Ready to paste, with a character count so you can check it against Airbnb's title length limit before saving.
  • A rewritten description. Restructured so the details guests care about come first.
  • Prioritized fixes. The changes most worth making first, not a list of fifty generic tips.

How it works

  1. Paste your listing link. Any public Airbnb listing URL with /rooms/ and a number.
  2. We read the public page. The same page any guest sees. No login and no access to your account.
  3. You get your report. Scores, rewrites and prioritized fixes, with a link saved for 7 days so you can come back to it.

After your audit

Start with the first fix on your list rather than rewriting everything at once. The rewritten title is usually the quickest change to make, and it's the first thing a guest sees in search.

Once you've made your changes, run the audit again to see how the new version reads.

What this audit doesn't do

Bestside focuses on how your listing presents. It doesn't track your search position, set or compare prices, measure occupancy, benchmark you against nearby listings, or judge photo quality.

For the factors Airbnb says affect ranking, see Airbnb's own guide to how search works.

A quick listing audit checklist

Prefer to review it yourself first? Ask these six questions about your listing.

  • Does your title lead with the detail that makes your place worth clicking, rather than the property type?
  • Could a guest find check-in details, sleeping arrangements and standout features within a few seconds of reading?
  • Is every amenity you actually offer ticked in your listing settings?
  • Do your photos cover every room guests will use, and do the captions say what each shows?
  • Would the right guest recognise the listing is meant for them from the title alone?
  • Are reviews, rating and host status doing work for you, or is there nothing that answers a nervous first-timer's questions?

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. You can run an audit for free without creating an account.

Do I need to connect my Airbnb account?

No. Bestside reads the public version of your listing page, the same page any guest can see. There's no login and no access to your Airbnb account.

How long does it take?

Usually 1 to 2 minutes. Detailed listings can take a little longer.

Is this my Airbnb score?

No. The 0-100 score is Bestside's own assessment of how well your listing presents to guests. It isn't produced by or connected to Airbnb.

Will this improve my search ranking?

Nobody can honestly promise that. Airbnb says ranking depends on factors such as price, quality, popularity and availability. The audit focuses on the part you fully control: how your title, description, amenities, photos and trust signals present your place.

How is this different from asking a chatbot?

A general chatbot only knows what you paste into it. Bestside reads your live listing page, including your title, description, amenities and photo information, along with review details when they're available, and scores it against a consistent framework before suggesting changes.

Can it see my photos?

Not the images themselves. It looks at how many photos you have and how they're captioned. It doesn't judge lighting, composition or image quality.

Does it work outside the US, or on Vrbo?

It works with Airbnb listing links on regional domains too, such as airbnb.co.uk, airbnb.ca or airbnb.com.au. Vrbo and other platforms aren't supported yet.

How often should I run it?

Whenever you make meaningful changes. Run it again to see how the new version reads. Each audit link is saved for 7 days.
